I just recieved a private email from a COMPLETELY UNKNOWN entity, "STARMANSHIP" <starman_at_cyberia.net.lb>, citing this above cited message, and it asked me to "Please remove us from your mailing list."

I first was going to respond and say, "What are you talking about?", but then I got suspicious. I know that I never respond to any spam mail, even when it says "Click here to be removed" because most of these are just testing whether your email address is live. I search google on "starmanship" and also "starman_at_cyberia.net.lb" and got not hits, so, it doesn't seem that this is an active usenet user, therefore I got even more suspicious.

I'm seeing how many people might have had the same thing happen. I'm guessing that this person/entity is actually trying to see if my mail address is live or not for some marketing purposes?
