Redolog file can not be written to HD

After upgraded from 8.1.6 to 8.1.7, everything seems to work fine except the redologs can not be written to the Disk. After all the online redos have been filled up, database just hung there. We would have to restart the database. So we are now forced to run the database in NOARCHIVELOG mood.

Could somebody help me please?
