Howard,
As much as I loathe the mere thought of a disagreement with a man God, Oracle has announced that it is desupporting 8.1.6 at the end of October. And since Larry Ellison dictates to God, I'll have to go with him.

BTW, Oracle recommends 8.1.7 to "maintain the highest level of support".
