Can't install Oracle 9i on a Pentium 4 system

I had a similar problem with 8i, but was able to patch the various JRE and JDK directories and jar files. I haven't had the same luck with Oracle 9i.

Basically, the problem is that any 1.1 JDK/JRE prior to 1.1.8_006 and any 1.2 JDK/JRE prior to 1.2.2_007 crashes on a Pentium 4. I think the specific problem is that JIT dies.

Has anyone been able to get Oracle 9i installed on a Pentium 4 system? Received on Sun Mar 25 2001 - 20:54:37 CST
