Help: LogMiner question

Hi, Folks,

We are interested in using LogMiner
for auditing the access of a table
without turning on the audit. But
from my understanding of reading,
everytime you want to analyze the redo
logs, you have to shutdown and mount
the database, is that true?

We are running 24 x 7 database, so we
can not use this new feature, is it right?
