If you are contemplating database admin as a career path, you may want to download linux or bsd (or shell out $75 for Solaris 8) and learn unix. Oracle can run on NT & Win2k, but a lot of people (myself included) much prefer to run it on unix (not to start a holy war - your mileage may vary. Regardless, learning what unix is and how to use it effectively would be a strong career move).
