Several things can be done

  1. Increse bufefrsize
  2. commit = no
  3. indexes =n and then create indexes separetely
  4. use parallel processes ( either ssystem wide or

 table level

5.If possible, turn off the archiving and after the import, do a backup and
then turn on the archiving.
Please donot do this without being
sure on this. It will jeopardize the
backup sets and will make recovery
impossible. However, if it is done
correctly, it will speed up the import process .
