Are you utterly out of your mind, or is it that you simply haven't a clue what you are doing?
Why on Earth would you ever want to issue a resetlogs unless you really needed to? It renders all prior backups useless, and all prior archives worthless. Your database is thus rendered, for the moment, completely unrecoverable.
Frankly, this is not even worth pursuing. Read up on backup and recovery basics, and then ask yourself your own question.
Jeez.

Where did you read this? The I-Spy book of Oracle DBA'ing? Come on..... do some basic research for yourself. Backup and Recovery is a huge subject, and a resetlogs has huge implications. The last thing you do is a resetlogs, and most DBAs will churn heaven and high water to avoid having to issue one. Yes, it re-initialises the Control File (whatever that means), but that's the least of your worries.

This is such an utterly daft question, I can tell that you haven't even read the Oracle HTML guides on Backup and Recovery principles. Go visit technet.oracle.com to do so. Then in years to come, you'll be able to amuse your grandchildren with anecdotes about the questions you used to ask of the newsgroups. Honestly, this one is such a howler that it doesn't really deserve an answer (though it is "yes").

Alan: do yourself a favour. Spend around $100US on the Oracle Press Backup and Recovery handbook. It's not perfect, and I reckon I could write my own version that would at least be slightly more amusing.... but you might actually learn something to your advantage were you to read it.
Amazon.com have a wide array of Oracle books (just type in "Oracle" and then click "Go!" on their search facility).
