Re: diff between v_$ and v$ views?

My understanding of it is this -

• SYS.V$namehere is hardcoded in the kernel
• SYS.V$_namehere is a view over the latter
• "V$namehere" is a public synonym over SYS.V$_namehere

For DBAs (in svrmgrl for example) the v$namehere kernal view is available from the time the instance starts, while the latter views become available when the DB opens.

I can't say I've ever looked into it though...
