I think you are confusing the file size with the virtual adress space.
On windows NT, the virtual address space of a process is 2Gb, On the
enterprise edition can be bigger.
On some intel processors you also can use a special intel driver to
address more then 2Gb, this is supported by recent versions of Orcale
