INSERTING a BLOB through a VIEW --- problem

I try to Insert a record with a BLOB (image) through a VIEW with an INSTEAD OF TRIGGER.
The record is inserted but............. it does NOT insert the Blob-attribute.

It does insert the blob when inserting directly into the table. (without the view and instead of.....)

Why is that? Is it possible to overcome this problem ?
