I shouldn't have to change it though, right? Shouldn't the install build an 8.1.0 database? The really bizarre thing is, I just tried the install on another machine (Win 2000 Server) and it worked the way I expected it to. 8.1.0 database created, Database Configuration Assistant creates second database with no trouble.
On the first system however, with a fresh Win 2000 Server install, the 8i install exhibits the "bad" behavior.
What am I missing?
