Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> SQLNet2: Dedicated listeners (separate configuration files)
Well I hope one of you could help me out with this one.
At this moment we have 1 host which consists of 2 database-instances. The listener on the host is defined in such a way that both instances are using the same configuration files (listener.ora, tnsnames.ora, sqlnet.ora, protocol.ora etc. etc.) For security purposes over here is it advisable to access these instances in a different way so we really want a situation where each instance is using it's own (fysical separated) configuration files. I've heard that it is possible, but I hardly can find information about it. Can anyone assist me with this problem?
Another question about the protocol.ora-file. It is possible to use wildcards (so a complete domain can have access or be excluded from the instance) or can only be worked with IP-addresses? Is it also possible to invoke comments into this file (very handy if it concerns a lot of IP-addresses)?
Thanks in advance.
Yours sincerely.
