From that description - and making assumptions about your size from the fact that you're currently using Access 97 - I'd suggest you also consider FoxWeb (www.foxweb.com) and Visual FoxPro.
You won't come across all the descriptions of grandeur of the others but you retain the ability to use SqlServer, Oracle or FoxPro's own tables and can develop in a simple environment that is very data oriented and very fast. You are also not restricted to using IIS. anthony shipley
