Oracle OCP dba certification ... 7.3 vs 8

I'm seriously considering moving from application development to becoming and OCP certified Oracle d.b.a..

I have been reading the Oracle 7.3 and 8 DBA tracks. Oracle is terminating the track for 7.3.3 in favor of 8 August 30, 2000.

My questions is, would it be useful, prudent, or wise to pursue certification on 7.3.3 and then take the 7.3 to 8 exam, or just go straight for the 8 curriculum?

I guess that would depend on how different 8 is from 7.3.3 (?), and then whether it is worthwhile knowing 7.3.3, as many companies will be using it for sometime to come.

I am very keen to hear any comments and suggestions anyone may offer.

TYVM
