Default SCHEMA using SQL*Net / Net8

Is there a way to set a default SCHEMA to use when connected to Oracle using SQL*Net/Net8 ?
I know you can change the default schema using ALTER SESSION SET DEFAULT_SCHEMA, but what if an application (in this case Business Objects) doesn't allow any SQL statements to be performed upon logon ?
