Usual pb with the 8.0.5 when you've an up to date glibc on a recent linux.
Got a pb alike with RedHat 6.
Try the patch for linux available on Oracle's ftp site, add those libcompat packages to have an older glibc on your system (doesn't replace the recent ones, just add them for compatibility sake) and Oracle makefiles that link exec. with those lib then relink it all.

I tried 8i, and it worked fine on my machine, but 8.0.5 installation does not work for me. Whenever I tried to run svrmgrl, it gave me the error: segmentation error and aborted the execution.
I am running on turbolinux workstation 6.
What is the reason?
