The recommendations you reference do not apply to the system tablespace; you should leave it as Oracle sets it. However, make sure only sys owned or other install provided ID's have objects in the system tablespace. And if you install any Oracle tools make sure that these tables are placed in a non-system tablespace unless the install instruction specify otherwise.
