Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> ORA-27120? EPC_DISABLE=TRUE?
Anyone familiar with ORA-27120? Our instance was shut down by the
checkpoint process. One time only, is running fine now. We only have 9
datafiles on this rather small database. As you can see by the trace
file below, Oracle got the impression it was over
500 million. We have both Oracle and AIX support investigating this.
Oracle core dumped. We are running
8.1.5 on AIX 4.3.2. The end of the alert log was -
ARC0: received prod
Current log# 4 seq# 220 mem# 1: /db17/oradata/OFDVP/redo04b.log
Wed Jan 12 09:05:37 2000
ARC0: media recovery disabled
Wed Jan 12 11:53:26 2000
CKPT: terminating instance due to error 1131
Instance terminated by CKPT, pid = 67850
Oracle's initial reaction was that they had some stuff on this for Sun,
but would have to dig around for AIX, which they are still doing. Our
AIX support suggested this -
"I searched austext for entries related to what we're experiencing right
now, and one of the suggestions is the following:
add "EPC_DISABLED=true" to Oracle's .profile"
This is set by the .oraenv automatically on our 7.3.4 database, but not on 8i.
So the question is, does anyone have any experience with ORA-27120, and
can anyone enlighten me as to what EPC_DISABLE means, and wether it
might help? The trace file is below.
Thanks,
Dc.
