I'd heard that there was some Oracle 4 floating around...
You mentioned Oracle7 - be aware that Oracle7 is scheduled to be desupported in January, 2001 - you don't want to get caught again. However, you may have to go to Oracle 7 as an intermediate path. I'm not sure about the path before Oracle 6, but I remember that you had to be at a minimum of Oracle 6.0.36 to go to Oracle 7.1.6, then to Oracle 7.3. To get to Oracle 8, you'll have to get to at least 7.3, most likely 7.3.4.
