Master Groups: are groups one creates with a replication environment. One to many. This is synonymous with Multi-Master replication setup.

Replication groups : is a generic term - to reflect a group which includes objects required to participate in Replication ( be it basic or advanced - snapshot(read/update), multi-master etc)
