We are also running Oracle 8 on NT 4.0 and I have to second these
remarks. Almost any change requires bringing the machine down, and on a
production box with 24/7 requirements, that means coming in at 3:30 AM.
Also, although our Oracle server NT box has been pretty stable, our NT
IIS (Internet Information Server) has brought the Oracle box to it's
knees twice in the last year by flaking out and not releasing
connections. Hope it helps.
