Which Developer version to choose?

Hi all!
We are currently using Dev/2000 Version 4.5 release 1.5 on Windows NT. We are debating
whether to move to Release 1.6 or Developer 6.0 (Isn't this the latest version?) .
We don't know if this would affect any of our existing code? We heard that Oracle might not support 1.6 in the long run. Please give me your opinions about the pros and cons.
