Connect to Oracle 8i w/CS 8.05

I have a client who is using Oracle 8i on site. We provide a solution which works fine on 8.05.00. Client wants to know if I can go out and install our software on their 8i db, and use 8.05.00 client to connect to it.

I've not played with 8i as of this point, and so I don't have a clue. I'm going out to the client site this weekend, so I'll try it the old-fashioned way... but if anyone has any experience with this, I'd appreciate it.

Based on my exposure to Oracle over the years (since 7.1), it's been pretty well cool in terms of versions of client connecting to servers, but...8i I don't know anything about!
