I had a similar problem as yourself yesterday. I was trying to use the SQL*Net
easy config tool which runs through the oracle installer. The version of the
oracle installer you're using is probably not Y2K compliant. Oracle have a
product-matrix on their web site which lists all the products that are (or are
not) Y2K compliant.



In my case the installer I was using didn't pass the test.
