This is hopefully a quick question for someone.

I'm new to Oracle and need to know what the following processes are or where to get info:

  oracle 25377 1 0 23:21:53 ? 0:06 ora_dbw0_Z815
  oracle 29427 7535 0 11:29:34 pts/7 0:00 grep ora_
  oracle 25391 1 0 23:21:53 ? 0:01 ora_d001_Z815
  oracle 25379 1 0 23:21:53 ? 0:12 ora_lgwr_Z815
  oracle 25389 1 0 23:21:53 ? 0:00 ora_d000_Z815
  oracle 25375 1 0 23:21:53 ? 0:01 ora_pmon_Z815
  oracle 25381 1 0 23:21:53 ? 0:04 ora_ckpt_Z815
  oracle 25408 1 94 23:25:08 ? 30:51 ora_s000_Z815
  oracle 25383 1 0 23:21:53 ? 0:10 ora_smon_Z815
  oracle 25385 1 0 23:21:53 ? 0:00 ora_reco_Z815

We have a problem with performance and am trying to find out why ora_s000_Z815 is eating the processor on our Sun box. Obviously, before I can do this, I need to know what in the heck the process is for. We are a small org and have no DBA's.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,
Dan
