Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> Re: NT/8.i configuring listener for multiple NIC cards
Rock,
Hope you don't mind me copying you in email as well as the newsgroup, but I haven't had much luck in solving this one.
The machine it is on is serving as an Internet proxy server, so one NIC goes to the local user LAN and the other NIC goes to the Internet router.
Most other services on the machine work normally, i.e., they listen on both NICs without any reconfiguration. And I know I previously solved this one under Oracle 8.03, but I can't remember how.
The default route is to the Internet router, so everything else works fine on the box - I can mount disks over the Internet, FTP, etc. - just that the listener times out when coming from the Internet side. (There is no firewall - its a direct connect)
This would seem to be a common configuration but i can't find any documentation on getting a listener working on the second NIC.
Thanks,
Steve
