I haven't been able to get it to work with the Oracle supported RedHat distribution either. Anything I re-link just seg faults. I tried RedHat 6 and the glibcpatch but that didn't do any better.
Look for executables that came with the distribution. i.e. in the staging area, or maybe on the CD. These work fine for me; I just can't relink anything.
