Hi

I'm having a weird problem...
Just downloaded the new app server this morning with a view to switching from 4.0.7.

OS: Solaris 7
I'm running orainst as oracle:dba but the installer gives me an error message that it can't create the ocommon directory and aborts. This is what the installer has created... (/opt2/oraApp408 = $ORACLE_HOME)
# ls -al /opt2/oraApp408/
total 5

drwxr-xr-x 5 oracle dba 512 Dec 22 11:15 .
drwxrwxrwx 17 oracle dba 512 Dec 22 11:15 ..
drwxr--r-- 2 oracle dba 512 Dec 22 11:07 bin
drwxr--r-- 2 oracle dba 512 Dec 22 11:11 ocommon
drwxr--r-- 2 oracle dba 512 Dec 22 11:21 orainst

Even when I grant write access for all users to all dirs under $ORACLE_HOME the installer still fails. And yes, I do have plenty of space ;)
/dev/dsk/c0t8d0s0 5038396 2187454 2800559 44% /opt2

Has this happened to anyone? Did I miss smthg? Any workarounds?

Thanks...
...any help or comments greatly appreciated!!
