Listener Log Clearing

Does anaybody know if it is possible to clear out the listener log (ora 7.3.4) without stopping
the listener under unix? I know by previous experience doing an rm on the file while the listener is running removes the name from the fs table bout the file does not go away until the listener is stopped.
