Deploying Forms with OAS/Developer Server

I'm trying to deploy a simple Hello-World form compiled with Form Builder 6.0 using Oracle Application Server.

Here's my configuration:

Server:

WinNT 4.0, no service pack
OAS 4.0.7, Web Listener set up
Developer Server 6.0 running on port 9000 static html file and .fmx placed in appropriate directories

Client:

Netscape 4.5
JInitiator 1.1.7.21

When I connect to the URL on the client, the OAS welcome panel shows up, the oracle classes (f60all.jar ...) are loaded, and the java-event-queue runs up to the message

    Forms Applet version is : 4

At this point, the application seems to get stuck, somehow, as nothing else happens and the welcome screen doesn't disappear ...

Does anyone have an idea what's happening here?
