You haven't really told us anything
that could allow a sensible assessment
of effect, but the obvious observation is that your system has a lot of CPU and
Memory compared to the number of
spindles in use. Unless the entire
database is permanently buffered it
would be no surprise to see it I/O
bound all the time.
