Hi,
Oracle Consulting has a High Availability practice to which I belong that
deals with all Oracle High Availability issues Generally and EMC
specifically
In a high level answer :.
· establish - Establishes BCV pair(s), copying contents of the standard device to the BCV device
· split - Splits BCV pair(s) and returns to normal operation
· restore - Establishes BCV pair(s) copying contents of the BCV device to the standard device
· setup - Creates a file (bcv_setup.dat) used to list Symmetrix device types and sizes with the corresponding Symmetrix device serial numbers and host device numbers
· query - Reports the list of all BCV pairs in the Symmetrix
· verify - Reports the percent synchronization of the established BCV pairs
in the specified device file
All TimeFinder CLI operations, except query, occur on groups of Symmetrix
devices defined in device files. Device files are lists of device serial
numbers for standard and Business Continuance Volume (BCV) devices. You need
to create device files to support the devices used by the host applications
with which you intend to run TimeFinder CLI operations.
