Dead Dispatchers

My database crashed recently with the following enteries in the alert log:

Tue Sep 28 17:23:42 1999
found dead multi-threaded server 'S000', pid = (9, 1) Tue Sep 28 17:24:47 1999
DBW0: terminating instance due to error 472 Instance terminated by DBW0, pid = 463

Now I am starting to see messages like this:

found dead dispatcher 'D002', pid = (16, 1)

I understand what servers and dispatchers are in MTS, but do not eactly understand how or why they would die. I would like to know if anyone running MTS has encounter similar problems, and how these problems were solved.

That is if it is a problem at all.
