Delayed Response

Hi
I have 2 servers rnning two different database erp/orcl in 8.0.4 connected by database links. the select statement issued from database erp to orcl using db linktakes a very long time. Sameway tnsping80 also takes a long time.

But from orcl to erp both select statements and tnsping80 is very fast. Both machines are on same network.

From any third client machine the response while connected to either machine is equally fast.

I have tried reinstalling net8 services and configured listener .ora but no improvement Please help
The listener.ora,sqlnet.ora and tnsnames.ora are almost identical except for SID name.
When i try lsnrctl80>status
on i machine it shows service summary erp has two service handlers on another orcl has one service handler maybe this is the root cause
