ORA-27047 problems

Does anyone know how to get around this error when doing media recovery?

ORA-00308: cannot open archived log 'D:\ORAWIN95\DATABASE\ARCHIVE\ARC187.1'
ORA-27047: unable to read the header block of file
OSD-04006: ReadFile() failure, unable to read from file

I'm using Oracle 8 Peronal Edition, I've set LOG_BLOCK_CHECKSUM to true but it does not detect any corruption.
