Two possibilities exist:

  1. If the article table is static and you have an up to date export, you MAY be lucky enough to be able to simply import it. The obvious issues here are any changes since the export are lost, and you need to ensure you don't cause integrity problems with other data.
  2. If you are running in ARCHIVELOG mode, you can restore the database (except the controlfiles) from backup and recover to a point in time prior to the update statement.
