Oracle startup error: ORA-03113

First the server stoped to receive requests with the next error message:

Maximum number of processes exeeded. When I tried to restart the Oracle server, the nex error ocured:

end-of-file on communication channel, this is ORA-03113

Any attempt to start the server with the startup script or manually (with the svrmgrl) fails with the above message. We have Oracle Server 8.0.5 under Redhat Linux 6.0.
