Does anyone have any experience with modifications to this parameter...The tuning manual (quoted below) describes the following with regard to improving sort performance, but I've never seen it modified from its default at any site...

Server Tuning:
"Change the SORT_READ_FAC parameter, which is a ratio describing the
amount of time necessary to read a single database block divided by the block transfer rate. The value is operating system specific; the default value is typically 5, but the parameter should usually be set to 16 or 32"

Any views to share ?
