Web front-end (apache) to Oracle?

Hello,

I'm trying to use Oracle 8 as a backend, and use no other Oracle products, and make a Web interface that allows users to queries, do data-entry, etc on the database.

I'm trying to do it with Apache now. Does anyone know: 1. where I can get any advice on how to do it, or 2. any comparison/opinions on Oracle Web DB vs. other Web servers?

The reason I didn't want to use Oracle's WebDB is that I'm not sure we'll necessary keep Oracle as the backend.

Thanks.
