8.0.5 on Linux accessing 8.1.5 on Solaris

I have a C++ application running on Linux which needs to access and Oracle 8i database running on Solaris. Are the ProC libs that ship with Oracle 8.0.5 for Linux compatible with Oracle 8.1.5 for Solaris. Any thoughts? --
