CREATE CONTROLFILE + ORA-01200

So i read somewhere that if you shrink datafiles, you get this error if you attempt to recreate the controlfile in Oracle 7.

This is because the datafiles are marked with their creation size, which of course does not match their "shrunken" size.

Is this the case, and is there a way around it?
