DIRECTOR PRODUCT MANAGEMENT
This software company, based in Mountain View, California, is the leading
supplier of Enterprise Application Development solutions. Their products
enable customers to accelerate e-Business by maintaining, transforming and
extending business applications rapidly, with low risk and high return on
investment. They assist companies to accelerate their move to e-Business by
extending their legacy COBOL assets to the Web and other distributed
platforms. Their products help companies to maintain their legacy
applications and increase productivity by extending their development
environment to the workstation. The goal is to allow businesses to avoid
having to re-architect or rebuild their existing applications in new, more
Web-friendly languages. It is even possible to turn COBOL programs into
CORBA or COM objects, which can be used on any tier of the application.
Position Description
Responsibilities include managing a group of Product Managers. The Director will have responsibility for product strategy, definition and schedules, technology assessment, product profitability and business plans for the product line that is moving the mainframe environment to the Internet. This individual will work closely with his/her team of Product Managers, development and market management to ensure that the products achieve their anticipated objectives, taking a leadership role in specifying product requirements and schedules. The Director, Product Management will also collaborate with market management to drive market requirements to product plans. S/he will represent the company and its solutions to the market through public speaking and client visits.
Required Skills:
? Technical BS degree, or equivalent, is required. MBA preferred.
? 5+ years' marketing experience as a Product Manager, preferably in the
software industry.
? Mainframe experience required, experience with enterprise application
product management is a plus
? Strong leadership skills, communication and writing skills, as well as
strategic and tactical skills.
? Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as strategic and
tactical skills are essential.
U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency Required.
