nls misconfiguration ??

well... what a formidable error message that suddenly appears after i've installed Oracle server 8.1.5 on linux system. I suppose that it could have a relation with NLS but i'm not sure. i've set the environment variable NLS_LANG="French_France.WE8DEC" and it had work (i could enter sqlplus command) but suddenly i could not. I've tried to change NLS_LANG to "American_America.US7ASCII" but no change appear.

Could anyone help me ? should i set a hidden option or get this file somewhere ?

sorry for my english, my configuration doesn't apply the NLS_ENGLISH="perfect" option ... :)
