Well. Though I am working on Solaris, I could just tell u a suggession. I 
also faced the same type of error.



When u login as different user, did you ensure that the another user has 
create session, resource, connect privileges? Otherwise create an user and 
grant them these roles and try again.



If this answer seems to be a pathetic one, I am sorry, I have never worked 
on Linux
