Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> Applet Security Problem with Oracle8i Server.
Hi everybody,
This problem is related to an applet accessed through the Netscape Communicator 4.04 web browser and accessing Oracle8i server.
For that I need to setup browsers including granting some priviledges on Netscape 4.04, Which are i)PropertyAccess ii)PropertyRead iii)PropertyWrite.
Everything including the above three, I have set as documented by Oracle8i(%ORACLE_HOME%\javavm\demo\examples\corba\applets\innetscape\rea dme.txt).Everything is ok when I am tring to run that applet from local mechine,but When I tried to run on remote mechine is gives an Exception as follows:
"[Root exception is netscape.security.AppletSecurityException: security.checkpropsaccess.key #UniversalPropertyRead privilege not enabled: Reading information stored in your computer, such as your user name]javax.naming.NamingException"
So, that does means that Netscape is accessing some file locally which is installed with Oracle8i, but could not found remotely.What should I do?
P.S: Documentation of Oracle8i claimed that they were tested on Netscape 4.04, If you have an older or even later version of the Communicator, the applet might not work because of various bugs involving the sand box implementation in the communicator.But I am using Netscape 4.04.
Please help me.Thanks in advance.
Sujit
