Problem migrating 7.2.3 to 7.3.3

Hi experts,

I am experiencing a prblem while migrating from Oracle server V 7.2.3 to 7.3.3 (AIX 4):

I have taken the following steps:

shutdown the old database
take a full tape backup
deinstall old software
install new software

After that I wanted to update the databse objects by invoking orainst once again. After choosing Update database objects I was never asked about the former version (which is mentioned in the documentation). After leaving orainst I wanted to startup the new database server by invoking svrmgrl (German texts translated):

SVRMGR> connect internal
Connected to an idle instance.
SVRMGR> startup
ORACLE Instance wurde gestartet.

Fixed Size                       38988 Byte
Variable Size                 15657260 Byte
Database Buffers               2252800 Byte
Redo Buffers                     32768 Byte

ORA-00205: error in identifying control file '/oracle/orahome.7.2.3.new/dbs/ctrl1i3v.ctl' ORA-09782: sfifi: another instance has the same database mounted. SVRMGR> You see: I am unable to mount the control files, but I am absolutely sure to have dismounted the old database.

Any help will be appriceated
