Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> can't connect with OEM Backup Manager
Yes, I'm new at this...
I'm connecting to Oracle 8.04 (Solaris) from a Enterprise Manager running on NT 4.0.
I can connect to all other applications of Enterprise Manager, including admin options in Instance Manager (REMOTE_LOGIN_PASSWORD=EXCLUSIVE), but attempts to connect to Backup Manager result in TNS 12203 - unable to connect to database.
So I turned on tracing and there are errors about no TNSNAV.ORA file (and there is no TNSNAV.ORA file on my NT client...).
SQLNET.LOG reports a main nt error of 530 - protocol adapter error as well as TNS 12560 with the same error description.
Anyhow...this is the text of the trace file-- PLEASE HELP! (Thank you!)
P.S. A couple questions I have on the calling address in the below text are: How come the SID is 'ORCL' and not _my_ SID and how come the protocol is 'BEQ' and not TCP?
