Seriously though, I could not find anything describing that parameter in my 7.4 documentation and got peeved after a long and fruitless search. But then you should take nothing seriously on the Usenet. My favorite Usenet quote goes something like this:
Usenet is like a herd of elephants with diarrhea Entertaining, amusing, fun to watch
but also the biggest source of bullshit anywhere

(am quoting from memory so I'm not doing the quote full justice)
