If my memory serves me right, it was replaced by EBU (and RMAN on Oracle8). You still may be on an older release of Oracle? EBU comes with two manuals - an Administrators Guide and an Error Codes and Messages manual - start with these. You'll also need the docs for which ever backup product you use (and probably a little help from Oracle getting it linked with ebu/obackup - I had many problems with IBM's ADSM, and so did Oracle, but we got there in the end.)
